Japanese Fujitsu has launched mobile WiMAX base station equipment at the WiMAX World and Exposition 2006. This device, which will support both Wave 1 and Wave 2 standards derived by the WiMAX Forum, is expected to begin shipments in 2007. Meanwhile, Nokia rolled out two models of Flexi WiMAX base stations, using the 2.5 and 3.5GHz bands, with commercialization slated for late 2007 and the first quarter of 2008, respectively.
